The early beginnings of humans can be found in the Book of Genesis 2:7 “the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and the man became a living being”. This is the first written occurrence of the beginnings of the human race, written by Moses and his knowledge of this was given to him by God. In Genesis 2:21-22, God created a mate for Adam named Eve from Adam’s rib, this is the most widely known account of the creation of woman. I have found in the Haggadah(the text of the Talmud which derives from the Mishnah(in Hebrew) and the Gemara(in Aramaic) the two widely spoken languages of ancient times) there is a conflicting addition to the creation of Adam and Eve. In my research I found that Eve was not the first woman, this woman is known as Lilith. She also was created the same way as Adam and because of this, she refused to be subservient to him, wanting to have equal status since they were both created equally. She left Adam by pronouncing the Ineffable Name, the name of God which in Hebrew is Elohim, she flew from the Garden of Eden. God sent three angels to return her to Adam with the threat that “unless she returned she would lose a hundred of her demon children daily by death.” This knowledge of speaking God’s Name and transforming herself to escape shows that in the beginning, in the direct presence of God, humans were not as naive as the Scriptures make them out to be which is a common misconception. In Genesis 3:1-24 we read about the first sin of humans, how Eve was tempted by Satan to eat from the forbidden tree and gave the fruit also to Adam “and their eyes were opened”(Genesis 3:7). The Bible says that Satan hates God and all his creations especially Man, but what the Bible doesn’t elaborate on is why. In the Haggadah, God invited his angels to come and pay homage to his creation of Man but Lucifer the greatest of all angels in Heaven refused, saying to God “you created us from the splendor of the Shekinah(God’s Glory) and now you command us to cast ourselves down before the creature you fashioned out of dust from the ground.” God answered “yet this dust has more wisdom and understanding than you”, this also answers the misconception of the naivety of humans. Now God cursed the serpent(Satan) saying that the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent will be enemies.

This was a promise from God that the woman’s seed will defeat Satan in a future battle, this person will redeem humankind back to God and deliver them from the curse of sin and death. After Adam and Eve’s expulsion from Eden, the Bible says they had two sons Cain and Abel, and daughters but the names of the daughters are not mentioned. After Cain commits a great sin, murder, God marked him and cursed him to be a “restless wanderer” on earth(Genesis 4:12-16). Cain leaves with his unnamed wife and has a son Enoch and builds a city named after his son. Cain’s wife had to be one of his sisters because God allowed inbreeding so that Adam and Eve’s descendants can populate the world, but when inbreeding became a problem God commanded that close relatives should not marry. The Bible mentions Cain’s descendants which spans six generations(Genesis 4:17-22) but unlike all of Cain’s relatives from his father Adam to Noah(Genesis 5:1-32) there is no age for how old Cain was when he had his son Enoch and what age he lived to. This speculates that the “Mark” the curse that God put upon Cain for him to wander the earth forever could possibly mean that Cain may have been cursed with immortality. Adam and Eve were blessed with another son Seth, the Bible states after having Seth, Adam was 800 years old and had other unnamed and unnumbered sons and daughters. During my researches I have found one named daughter that came after Seth, her name is Norea found in The Hypostasis of the Archons(Gnostic Bible). When Norea was born Eve said to Adam “ God has produced for me a virgin as an assistance for many generations of human beings.” Now the lineage of Adam goes on for nine generations but in the fifth generation when Enoch(not to be confused with Cain’s son Enoch) was born this was extraordinary, the Bible says that when Enoch was 300 years old when he walked with God(Genesis 5:22) but 65 years later Enoch did not die, in Genesis 5:23-24 God raptured Enoch. This is the first written occurrence of a human being raptured by God. Nine generations later Noah was born(Genesis 5:28-29), and when Noah was 500 years old he had three sons Japheth, Shem, and Ham. These three sons will play a pivotal role in the history of the world.

In Genesis 6:1-8 with humankind multiplying on the Earth and the Fallen of Heaven from Mt. Herman mating with human women, there was a lot of sin in the world. This particular group of Fallen was called the Nephilim that mated with human women and their offspring were the Nephilites, the Bible describes them as giants and they were great warriors(Genesis 6:4). God also commanded that in the future a human will only live no more

than 120 years, in ancient times humans had extraordinarily long lifespans, but Genesis 5:1-32 shows from Adam to Noah’s father Lamech, God was already shortening the lives of humans. Humans would live on average 600-800 years, I believe God allowed such a long lifespan so that the Earth can be populated. Before the rapid onset of AIDS, Cancer, and Hepatitis(modern-day pestilence) and humans not eating according to how the Bible instructs us to, humans did live close to 120 years. Seeing all this evil and sin in the world God made a decision to start over(Genesis 6:5-7), but he would save one person and his family and charge him with a righteous task this person was Noah. In Genesis 6:13 God tells Noah that he is extremely angered with humankind, with all the evil and sin that they commit, and lets Noah know that He is going to wipe everything away. Genesis 6:14-16 God gives Noah specific instructions on how to build the ark, instructs Noah on which animals to gather, and tells him that they will come to him(Genesis 6:19-20). Noah had a close fellowship with God(Genesis 6:9) did as God instructed without deviation and humankind survives. In Genesis 7:11-12, God opened the floodgates of Heaven and all the springs of the great deep, which means the earth was flooded from the sky and the ground. For forty days and nights, the oceans rose and the rains fell and soon there was no land to be seen the earth was completely water for 150 days. Before the Great Flood according to the Book of Moses (Ch 3 Ver 6), plant life was watered by a mist from the earth. After 150 days all the water receded this account can be found in Genesis 8:1-22. In Genesis 9:18-27, this was the pivotal turn in the existence, struggles, and triumphs of the human race. Not even realizing how powerful the human tongue is Noah with his anger spoke the destiny of modern-day humankind. Noah’s three sons are the forefathers of modern-day humankind, in the Bible Israel is the center point for direction, Japheth the oldest son went north into modern-day Europe, his blessing by Noah “may God extend the territory of Japheth” grew into the greatest civilization on earth the Roman Empire which ruled the earth for centuries. Shem the middle son went east into modern-day Asia, his descendants were blessed also but not as greatly as Japheth. Japheth’s territory occupied Shem’s “may Japheth live in the tents of Shem”. But Shem’s descendants did have great wealth and abundance with the many Dynasties of ancient China, and the great civilizations of Egypt and Assyria. Ham the youngest son went south into modern-day Africa, Ham was cursed thru his oldest son Canaan, “cursed be Canaan the lowest of slaves will he be to his brothers”. Africans have been slaves of the descendants of Japheth(Europeans) and Shem(Asians, Jews, and Arabs) for centuries. Genesis 10:1-32 explains the directions the brothers went and the great nations that came from them.

As the book of Genesis continues we meet Abram a direct descendant of Shem who later becomes the patriarch of God’s people Abraham. In Genesis 12:1-8 God tells Abram to leave his father’s house in Ur(which was a city in what is now modern Saudi Arabia) and travel to a place where he says that Abram’s offspring will inherit. Abram his wife Sarai(Sarah) and his nephew Lot and all their tribesmen leave and travel west to Canaan where the Canaanites(Ham’s descendants) occupy. God promises Abram this land and covenants with Abram Genesis 15:18 that his descendants will have the land as their own.
